Terre Vernissee is the French term for pottery traditionally from the South of France made with terracotta clay, covered with a white creamy slip and then either decorated and/or glazed with luscious glazes. Everyone has their own version, but the common thread is terracotta, white slip and earthenware temperatures.
Here are a few examples made at home in Warrandyte.
Drying the sun before bisque firing.
Just off the wheel, before turning the bases, adding handles and before pouring the white slip.
