Terre Vernissee is the French term for pottery traditionally from the South of France made with terracotta clay, covered with a white creamy slip and then either decorated and/or glazed with luscious glazes. Everyone has their own version, but the common thread is terracotta, white slip, glazes using copper, iron or cobalt and earthenware temperatures.
